Andre Gisson (1921 - 2003), widely believed to be French, was actually Anders Gittelson, an American born in New York. He utilized the name and an age change to enhance his career. After WW II, he was awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Pratt Institute, where he continued to further develop and refine his artistic skills. His works are held in the collections of presidents, literary figures and media personalities, along with many other collections around the world.
