American Impressionist artist John Modesitt was born in New Mexico in 1955. Like many gifted artists, his talent and desire became evident early on, and he began painting at the age of twelve. Subsequent studies at the Art Institute of Chicago and The Metropolitan Museum of Art began the foundation for John's artistic career. The influence of time spent studying the works of the Master Impressionists can also be seen in John's work; however, his resulting canvases exhibit a certain je ne sais quoi that makes them uniquely recognizable as a Modesitt. Over the years, his work has been featured in many exhibitions and is currently held in many important collections around the world. John currently resides with his family in California, in addition to spending time living and working in France.
